Russian MMA Union invites IMMAF-WMMAA athletes to Men’s International MMA Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia

2019 Russian MMA Union Men’s International MMA Cup

The Russia MMA Union proudly invites mixed martial arts amateurs from around the world to compete in the 2019 Russian MMA Union Men’s International MMA Cup tournament in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia from September 16-21, 2019. The event presents the opportunity for all gold, silver and bronze medalists to win US$2000, US$1000 and US$500, respectively.

Khanty-Mansiysk is an alpine skiing center of global renown, well experienced in hosting major sporting events. Biathlon World Cup competitions are held annually in the Russian city, which is home to the HC Yugra of the Continental Hockey League and the Ugra Chess Academy, which has hosted the 2010 Chess Olympiad and numerous World Cups.

A US$40,000 fund of prize money to be divided among the winners. The five-day tournament is for senior males or men aged 18 and older across 10 weight divisions spanning strawweight to super heavyweight.

The Russian MMA Union Men’s International MMA Cup tournament will be broadcast live internationally on IMMAF TV and other platforms. There are 16 places in each category for the top-ranking applicants according to the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation-World Mixed Martial Arts Association World Amateur MMA Rankings and a maximum of two places per national team in each division.

“The tournament is held at a high level as an international competition in Ugra and is not in its first year,” Russian MMA Union chairman Fedor “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko said. “I have no doubt that the tournament in 2019 under its new (IMMAF-WMMAA) standards will attract a greater number of foreign participants, which will increase this event’s significance in the international MMA arena.”

Fighting out of Stary Oskol, Belgorod, Russia, Emelianenko is a heavyweight MMA fighter, sambist and judoka currently competing for Rizin Fighting Federation and Bellator MMA. Meanwhile, here is clip from IMMAF-WMMAA:
