Brazil vs Netherlands: Can Leonardo Mafra knock out Djamil Chan at ‘Brave 25’ in Belo Horizonte?

Featuring 10 mixed martial arts bouts, “Brave 25” will be held at the Minas Tenis Clube Arena in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil on August 30, 2019. In the seventh bout of the evening, Leonardo “Macarrão” Mafra, 30, of Brazil  and Djamil “Dynamite” Chan, 29, of the Netherlands will battle it out in the super lightweight division.

As media and fans described it, the upcoming bout between Mafra and Chan is a clash of technical brawlers and the only logical ending is a brutal knockout. The Brazilian contender agrees with that assessment and feels proud of being known as an exciting fighter and a finisher.

“I never like to analyze too much,” Mafra shared. “I leave that for the fans and the media but I’m happy to be known as an exciting fighter and have people realize that when I’m fighting anything can happen and a KO is just moments away. My strategy reflects that.”

A former UFC fighter, Mafra was knocked out when he made his Brave CF debut on May 11, 2018. He hopes to add yet another knockout to his record and get his first Brave CF win at “Brave 25.”

“I always go for the knockout and on August 30th, it won’t be different,” Mafra pointed out. “I’m going for the kill and to get my hand finally raised at Brave CF.”

“Brave 25” marks the second Brave CF bout of Mafra. He is coming out of a loss to Gadzhimusa “Deadshot” Gaziev, 27, of Dagestan, Russia at “Brave 12: KHK Legacy” in Jakarta, Indonesia on May 11, 2018.

Currently, Mafra holds a professional MMA record of 14 wins and 4 losses. On the other hand, Chan has 15 wins and 5 losses.

Chan is also coming out of a loss. He lost via unanimous decision to Luan “Miau” Santiago, 24, of Brazil at “Brave 18” in Manama, Bahrain on November 16, 2018.

Mafra will be Chan’s third opponent in Brave CF. Meanwhile, here is a “Brave 25” promotional video:
