Filipino actor, singer and rapper Elmo Magalona, 25, recently returned to the music scene with his latest single “Crush.” The song has caught the attention of music lovers not only in the Philippines but also those in several other countries in Asia.

“Crush” has been included in several playlists in Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. Upon its release, the song has already celebrated a number of achievements on various platforms as it topped the iTunes Philippines All Genre Chart, joining top hits of OPM and world music alike.

Since the release of “Crush,” the song has already garnered more than 120,000 streams on Spotify. Magalona was featured as the face of New Music Friday Philippines on the week of the song’s release.

The modern track revolves around the typical high school crush and getting bit by the love bug. It is about having such strong feelings for someone yet unsure if that someone feels the same.

Produced in Hawaii, “Crush” allowed Magalona to step out of his comfort zone and try new things. As he is still in the process of finding his sound, he says that this song is “a gateway to an unexplored Elmo.”

Prior to this song, Magalona released a self-titled album back in 2016, and recently collaborated with Hawaiian-Filipino artist Mimi Saballa, 19, who is professionally known as MiMi on the song entitled “Keke Love.”

With its fresh new vibe and the return of Magalona, “Crush” is definitely a track not miss out on. Watch out for the official music video and more music from him soon.

Born on April 27, 1994 to the late rapper Francis Magalona and Pia Magalona, Elmo was six months old when he was featured on on the cover of his father’s fifth album “FreeMan.” As an actor, Elmo starred in the films “Tween Academy: Class of 2012” in 2011, “Just One Summer” in 2012, “#Y” in 2014, “Bloody Crayons” in 2017 and in “My Fairy Tail Love Story” and in “Walwal” in 2018.

Elmo’s fans can stream and download “Crush” on  iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, and Amazon Music under Universal Records. Meanwhile, here is the actor-musician playing the Crush or Pass game:
