Grab Philippines celebrated National Heroes Day on August 26, 2019 by honoring Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, 40. The event was attended by the ride-hailing company’s community members and ONE Championship senior executive Victor Cui, 48.

Also in attendance was Team Lakay head coach Mark “The Machine” Sangiao, 39. He was with his proteges, ONE Championship athletes Eduard “Landslide” Folayang, 34, Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio, 30, and reigning ONE Strawweight World Champion Joshua “The Passion” Pacio, 23.

ONE Championship and Grab Philippines presented Pacquiao with a token of appreciation. The Filipino boxer and senator has worked closely with the Singapore-based martial arts organization in the past.

A beautifully-framed ONE Championship world title belt was presented to Pacquiao as a commemorative token for being a national hero. Cui, Sangiao, Folayang, Eustaquio and Pacio helped present the token to the boxing legend.

The Team Lakay warriors were treated to a world-class evening program along with fans and Grab drivers who all came out to see Pacquiao. To celebrate National Heroes Day, Grab Philippines invited Grab drivers and their families for a day of fun in an event that celebrated Grab’s Everyday Heroes on the road at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines.

Featuring performances by music and dance acts Shanti Dope, Rocksteddy and the SexBomb Girls, the event drew a huge crowd with entertainment and raffles. Pacquiao took the time to make a sizable donation to the Jinkee and Manny Heart Foundation, which gives free heart care for children in the Philippines, and donated 1,000 pesos to every grab driver in attendance, which ended up totaling 1 million pesos overall.

ONE Championship and Grab have executed strong partnership activations since the beginning of the year, working on various initiatives in the country, as well as in Southeast Asia. The two companies look to continue that strategic partnership for the remainder of 2019 and beyond.
