Alex “Canguru” Sandro, 35, was one of the winners at the Brave Combat Federation combat sports event “Brave 25.” It was his first victory in the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion.

Brave CF held “Brave 25,” which featured 10 MMA bouts, at the Arena Minas Tênis Clube in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil on August 30, 2019. In the first bout of the evening, Sandro competed at a catch weight of 75kg against Alessandro Gambulino, 29, of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Gambulino dominated the first round as he exhibited his fighting skills as a strong wrestler and grappler. He almost choked out Sandro at the end of the round but the latter was saved by the bell.

But Sandro was not able to bounce back. Suffering an eye injury, Gambulino could not continue so the referee raised the hand of Sandro, who was declared the winner via technical knockout via doctor stoppage.

Winning at “Brave 25” improved the professional MMA record of Sandro to 11 wins and 3 losses. On the other hand, Gambulino now has 9 wins and 3 losses.

“Brave 25” marked Gambulino’s second bout and second loss in Brave CF. It was Sandro’s promotional debut.

Sandro was born in Brazil on April 20, 1984 and he has been competing professionally since 2013. Before joining Brave CF, he competed in Force Fighting Championship, Big Bang, Nitrix Champion Fight, Noxii, Jungle Fight, Absolute Fighting Akhmat, Demolidor Fight MMA and Future Fighting Championships.

The “Brave 25” weigh-ins took place in Belo Horizonte on August 29, 2019. Gambulino weighed 76.3kg, which means he would lose 20 percent of his fight purse, while Sandro weighed 74.3kg.

In the main event of the evening, Cleiton “Predator” Silva, 33, of Belo Horizonte challenged reigning Brave CF Lightweight World Champion Luan “Miau” Santiago, 24, of Curitiba, Parana, Brazil. The challenger dethroned the defending champion via submission in the first round.

The co-main event was a bantamweight bout between Felipe Efrain, 25, of Sao Paulo and Matheus Nicolau, 26, of Belo Horizonte. The latter emerged as the victor.
