Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach celebrated her 30th birthday in Bali, Indonesia September 24, 2019. During her celebration, she reunited with some of her Miss Universe 2015 batchmates.
Located east of Java and west of Lombok, Bali is the westernmost of the Lesser Sunda Islands. The Indonesian province is home to the Tanah Lot Temple, the Uluwatu Temple, the Tegallalang Rice Terraces, the Ubud Monkey Forest, the Kintamani, the Bali Safari and Marine Park, the Goa Gajah, the Bunut Bolong and Padang Padang Beach.
Born to a German father and a Filipino mother in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, West Germany, Wurtzbach was 9 years old when her parents separated. She speaks English, Filipino, Cebuano and German.
Wurtzbach was crowned Miss Universe 2015 on December 20, 2015 in what is considered the most controversial coronation in the history of the international beauty pageant. She bested 79 other candidates.
