‘The Masked Singer’ Season 2: Johnny Weir is Egg, Ninja is Ice Cream

Johnny Weir, 35, and Richard Tyler Blevins, 28, who is professionally known as Ninja, were among the 16 celebrities who participated in “The Masked Singer” Season 2. The new season of the reality singing competition television series premiered on Fox on September 25, 2019.

The 16 mystery celebrity contestants of “The Masked Singer” Season 2 were divided into four groups. The first two groups performed in the first episode titled “Return of the Masks: Groups A & B.”

Weir was eliminated from the first group. It was Ninja who was eliminated from the second group.

As a masked singer named Egg, Weir sang “Just Dance” by Lady Gaga in the first round. He was in the bottom two with Skeleton who performed “Rapper’s Delight” by The Sugarhill Gang and “Good Times” by Chic.

In the smackdown, Egg and Skeleton performed “One Way or Another” by Blondie and “Hard to Handle” by Otis Redding, respectively. Skeleton was safe while Egg was unmasked and was revealed to the audience as Weir.

The bottom two from the second group were Ice Cream and Ladybug. Their respective songs in the first round were “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus and “Holding Out for a Hero” by Bonnie Tyler.

As Ice Cream, Ninja sang “Whip It” by Devo in the smackdown and lost to Ladybug, who sang “Hit Me with Your Best Shot” by Pat Benatar. Unmasked, Ice Cream was revealed to the audience as Ninja.

 

Born on June 5, 1991 in Detroit, Michigan, United States, Ninja is of Welsh descent. He was one year old when he and his family moved from Detroit to Chicago.

Ninja attended Grayslake Central High School in Grayslake, Illinois, USA. He is a professional gamer and a YouTuber.

 

 

On the other hand, Weir was born in Coatesille, Pennsylvania, USA on July 2, 1984. He is of Norwegian descent.

Weir is a figure skater, and a fashion designer and an LGBTQ activist. He is a two-time Olympian.
