Germany’s Jan Szajko earns WKN World Super Bantamweight Championship title at ‘Kickboxtempel Ingolstadt’

Jan Szajkó Jr., 24, of Ingolstadt, Germany has been crowned as the World Kickboxing Network Super Bantamweight Champion. He earned the title in his hometown at “Kickboxtempel Ingolstadt,” which was presented by Jens Lintow.

The WKN held “Kickboxtempel Ingolstadt” in Ingolstadt on September 28, 2019 with a pair of championship bouts. In the main event, Szajko of Germany faced off Ougo “Iceman” Huet, 20, of Belgium for the WKN Super Bantamweight title under oriental rules.

The championship bout went a full five-round distance. It ended via unanimous decision in favor of Szajko, who is an International Sport Karate Association (ISKA) World Champion.

Originally from Strkovec, Rimavská Sobota, Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, Szajko currently lives in Ingolstadt. He is an alumnus of Športové gymnázium Banská Bystrica in Banská Bystrica.

Szajkó was born on December 2, 1995. He is married to Anna Szajkó.

On the other hand, Huet was born on March 3, 1999 and he lives in Marcinelle, Charleroi, Hainaut, Belgium. He attended Institut Jean Jaurès Charleroi in Charleroi and is a protege of Osman Yigin.

 

In the co-main event of “Kickboxtempel Ingolstadt,” Viktor Hofmann of Germany squared off against Eric N’Singa of Belgium competed for WKN International Middleweight Championship title in full contact. It ended via a unanimous decision also in favor of the local athlete.

While “Kickboxtempel Ingolstadt” was being held in Ingolstadt, the WKN presented “Salgo Fight Night” at the Városi Sportcsarnok in Salgotarjan, Hungary on September 28, 2019. In the main event of the latter, David Mihajlov of Re-Gym earned the WKN Hungarian Heavyweight title by unanimous decision against previously unbeaten Bakai Merse of Total Fighters Fite Club.
