The open workouts for “Brave 27” showed a great marriage between sports and music. The main attraction of the event was reigning Brave Combat Federation Welterweight World Champion Abdoul “The Conqueror” Abdouraguimov, 23, of France.
Brave CF held the open workouts at the Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on October 2, 2019. Usually a calm and discreet figure throughout fight week, Abdouraguimov came out of his shell during the event as he specifically asked the DJ to put on the disco song “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees while he gave the fans a sneak peek of his grappling abilities and flexibility.
The Bee Gees consisted of brothers Barry Gibb, Robin Gibb and Maurice Gibb. They recorded “Stayin’ Alive” at the Château d’Hérouville in Hérouville, France in 1977.
Born in Russia but now based in France, Abdouraguimov is an undefeated mixed martial artist with a professional MMA record of 10 wins, 0 loss and 1 No Contest. “Brave 27” marks the first time he is competing in Abu Dhabi.
Abdouraguimov put on a show during the “Brave 27″ open workouts with his teammates . He trained under the watchful eye of his opponent, former Brave CF Welterweight World Champion Jarrah “The Jordanian Lion” Al-Selawe, 26, of Jordan, who had trained earlier.
Talking directly to the fans, Abdouraguimov asked everyone to tune in when he makes his first title defense against the man he beat to get the coveted Brave CF Welterweight World Championship belt. He said, “I know some people feel he won the first fight and that is why I need to go out there and finish him now.”
“I hope to stay as champion and I will do my best to finish Jarrah this time and leave no doubt that I’m the rightful champion,” the undefeated Russian-French mixed martial artist continued. “Abu Dhabi, are you ready for me?”
“Brave 27” will take place on October 4, 2019 at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi. Marking Brave CF’s third event in the UAE, it will showcase the top Arab MMA fighters facing off against some of the biggest international stars.
