One Pride Pro Never Quit returned to Mahaka Square Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Jakarta, Indonesia on October 26, 2019. Carrying the theme of “Battle of the Pride,” the combat sports event featured a rematch between then reigning One Pride MMA Featherweight Champion Hafid “The Avatar” Nur Maradi and Aep “The Raging Bull” Saepudi.

“One Pride MMA Fight Night 33: Battle of the Pride” has four mixed martial arts matches on the main card. In the main event, Saepudin took the featherweight belt from Nur Maradi with a first round knockout.

From the opening bell, Saepudin successfully defended several of Nur Maradi’s takedown attempts. As the defending champion starts to slow down, the challenger pushed the pace with his powerful strikes.

Saepudin connected with a right hook. It knocked out Nur Maradi on the 1:48 mark of the first round.

“I have no intention of win early,” Saepudin stated. “I fight as planned and took our time. Alhamdulillah, all the hard training produced the desired outcome. I have nothing but respect to Hafid.”

“He is a very humble champion,” Saepudin said of Nur Maradi. “His strength and resilience have won the championship belt. Thus, I trained harder to be stronger and far more resilient than he is. Alhamdulillah, the team and I succeeded.”

The victory improved the professional MMA record of Saepudin to 5 wins and 4 losses. Hailing from Purwakarta, West Java, Indonesia, the new One Pride MMA Featherweight Champion trains at Livre Brotherman Bandung.

The co-main event of the evening was a celebrity fight. Randy Pangalila knocked out his fellow actor Adhi Pawitra in the first round.

“The bouts tonight are very exciting and my prediction for the celebrity fight is spot on,” KOBI Chairperson Ardiansyah Bakrie said. “However, I had it wrong for the title fight. I thought Hafid will bring Aep down and submit him but turns out that the new champion managed to defend his takedown attempts and knocked out Hafid.”

“Looking back at his long journey to the belt, this KO win is a moment that we can all be proud of,” Barkie said of Saepudin. “Never once in his career that Aep backed down in a fight. For fighters, particularly MMA athletes in Indonesia, keep working hard and don’t give up, because pro never quit.”
