Training out of Bali MMA, Stefer “The Lion” Rahardian, 32, of Indonesia has earned his eighth victory in ONE Championship. He was one of the winners at “ONE: Dawn of Valor” at the Istora Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta, Indonesia on October 25, 2019.
“ONE: Dawn of Valor” featured 13 mixed martial arts bouts and three ONE Super Series contests, which were two kickboxing contests and one Muay Thai fight. In the seventh bout of the evening, Rahardian competed in an MMA bout at a catch weight of 57kg against his countryman Adrian “Papua Bad Boy” Mattheis, 26, who is training out of Tigershard Fighting Academy.
Yoshinori Umeki served as the referee. Rahardian took Mattheis to the ground at will and kept him subdued for the duration of the three-round contest.
Mattheis tried his best to make it a striking affair but Rahardian was too slick on the mats. After three five-minute rounds, the catchweight bout was left in the hands of the judges.
In the end, Umeki raised the hand of Rahardian. The Bali MMA athlete was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
Winning at “ONE: Dawn of Valor” improved the professional MMA record of Rahardian to 9 wins and 4 losses. On the other hand, Mattheis now has 9 wins and 5 losses.
Aside from Indonesia, 14 other countries were represented at “ONE: Dawn of Valor” namely Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the Philippines, Sweden, Tajikistan, Timor Leste and the United States. Mattheis and Rahardian were among the 10 fighters who represented Indonesia.
