Training at Evolve MMA in Singapore, Eko Roni Saputra, 28, of Indonesia has earned his first victory in ONE Championship. He was one of the winners at “ONE: Dawn of Valor,” which toook place at the Istora Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta, Indonesia on October 25, 2019.
“ONE: Dawn of Valor” featured 13 mixed martial arts bouts and three ONE Super Series contests, which are two kickboxing contests and one Muay Thai fight. In the eighth bout of the evening, Saputra competed in an MMA bout in the flyweight division against Kaji “Alpha” Ebin, 27, of the Philippines.
Yoshinori Umeki served as the referee. Ebin dislocated his shoulder after throwing a wild right hook that missed the mark.
Umeki stepped in to intervene after determining Ebin could no longer continue. The official finish came at 19 seconds in the first round so Umeki raised the hand of Saputra, who was declared the winner via referee stoppage due to injury.
Winning at “ONE: Dawn of Valor” improved the professional MMA record of Saputra to 1 win and 1 loss. On the other hand, Ebin now has 2 wins and 3 losses.
Incuding Indonesia and the Philippines, 15 countries were represented at “ONE: Dawn of Valor.” The others were Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Sweden, Tajikistan, Timor Leste and the United States.
