Hatoropan Simbolon has earned his fifth victory in One Pride Pro Never Quit. He was one of the winners at “One Pride MMA Fight Night 33: Battle of the Pride.”

On October 26, 2019, Simbolon fought Victor Johanis Keitimu in the One Pride Pro Never Quit cage. The combat sports event took place at Mahaka Square Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Jakarta, Indonesia.

“One Pride MMA Fight Night 33: Battle of the Pride” had four mixed martial arts matches on the main card. The second match on the main card was a lightweight bout between Simbolon and Keitimu.

A jujitsu practitioner, Keitimu trains at Bantar Angin Bontang and Kaltim. Simbolon is training out of Wushu Sumut Humbahas.

Simbolon stopped Keitimu with a first round submission. The former quickly took the latter to the canvas as the fight started.

Keitimu did a guillotine choke attempt but it was quickly countered by Simbolon with a kimura. The Bantar Angin Bontang and Kaltim representative was forced to tap in 55 seconds in the very first round.

Winning at “One Pride MMA Fight Night 33: Battle of the Pride” improved the professional MMA record of Simbolon to 5 wins and 3 losses. On the other hand, Keitimu now has 3 wins and 3 losses.

In the main event of the evening, Aep “The Raging Bull” Saepudi became the new One Pride MMA Featherweight Champion by dethroning Hafid “The Avatar” Nur Maradi. In the co-main event, Randy Pangalila knocked out his fellow actor Adhi Pawitra in the featherweight division.

“The bouts tonight are very exciting and my prediction for the celebrity fight is spot on,” KOBI Chairperson Ardiansyah Bakrie said. “However, I had it wrong for the title fight. I thought Hafid will bring Aep down and submit him but turns out that the new champion managed to defend his takedown attempts and knocked out Hafid.”

“Looking back at his long journey to the belt, this KO win is a moment that we can all be proud of,” Bakrie said of Saepudin. “Never once in his career that Aep backed down in a fight. For fighters, particularly MMA athletes in Indonesia, keep working hard and don’t give up, because pro never quit.”

The first four One Pride MMA opponents Simbolon defeated were Ricky Anthony, Mohammad Fuad, Alfred Sendjaja and Yesreel Mocodaser. Watch the lightweight bout between Simbolon and Keitimu at “One Pride MMA Fight Night 33: Battle of the Pride” here:
