Myrtle Beach, South Carolina’s Arnold Jamal Bennett shot by Blythewood’s Darrell Demarcus Land?


Arnold Jamal Bennett of Myrtle Beach, Horry County, South Carolina, United States has died. He was 36.

Bennett has a daughter. He also has a son born in August 2019.


On August 4, 2019, Darrell Demarcus Land, 31, of Blythewood, South Carolina allegedly fatally shot Bennett in the head inside a house in Little River, Horry County. The latter is Walter Bennett‘s son and Sierra Fugate‘s boyfriend.

“August 4th was a Sunday and we were talking right here and he left before dark and we never heard from him again,” Walter told WPDE. Fugate told the publication that she has never seen Land before and they have no idea how Arnold and Land even knew each other.


On August 7, 2019, a family member reported Arnold missing to the Myrtle Beach Police Department. On August 13, 2019, he was missing to the Horry County Police Department.

On August 30, 2019, two city workers of North Myrtle Beach, Horry County found Arnold’s remains in a wooded area off Old Sanders Road near Robert Edge Parkway in North Myrtle Beach. His pickup truck was found just down the road.

On October 29, 2019, Arnold’s remains were identified. On the same day, Land was charged with murder in Arnold’s death.
