Amir Khan, 24, of Singapore was one of the “ONE: Edge of Greatness” fighters who participated in the open workout at the Evolve Far East Square in Singapore on November 19, 2019. The Singaporean mixed martial artist is training out of Evolve MMA in Singapore.
Featuring four Muay Thai matches and six MMA bouts, ONE Championship will hold “ONE: Edge of Greatness” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore on November 22, 2019. In the ninth bout of the evening, Khan will compete in an MMA bout in the lightweight division against Ev “E.T.” Ting, 29, of Malaysia and New Zealand.
“Both myself and Ev Ting always come to fight,” Khan stated. “We always leave it all inside the ring. It’s going to be non-stop action from start to finish.”
During the “ONE: Edge of Greatness” workout at the Evolve Far East Square, the athletes came out to showcase their skills to fans and media in attendance. They also took time to address the media and talk about their upcoming bouts.
“I am stronger now than ever before, more skilled and more experienced,” Khan said. “I’ve had a few months to analyze my recent performances. I’m more focused mentally and I just feel like I’m in a good place.”
“I want to show everyone here at home how much I’ve improved and what I can do,” the Singaporean Evolve MMA representative continued. “This bout, I feel, is going to be fight of the night.”
“ONE: Edge of Greatness” gives Khan an opportunity to redeem himself from three consecutive ONE Championship losses. After losing to Eduard “Landslide” Folayang, 34, of the Philippines, Ariel “Tarzan” Sexton, 37, of Costa Rica and Saygid Guseyn “Dagi” Arslanaliev, 25, of Turkey, the Singaporean MMA fighter now has 11 wins and 6 losses.
On the other hand, Ting is coming out of a submission victory over Daichi Abe, 27, of Japan. The Kiwi-Malaysian contender now has 17 wins and 6 losses.
