Featuring four Muay Thai matches and six MMA bouts, ONE Championship will hold “ONE: Edge of Greatness” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore on November 22, 2019. In the main event of the evening, Saemapetch will challenge reigning ONE Muay Thai Bantamweight World Champion Nong-O Gaiyangdao, 33, of Bangkok, Thailand
During the “ONE: Edge of Greatness” workout at the Evolve Far East Square, the athletes came out to showcase their skills to fans and media in attendance. They also took time to address the media and talk about their upcoming bouts.
“Fighting for the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Championship against a legend of the sport in Nong-O Gaiyanghadao is a huge honor for me,” Saemapetch stated. “I’ve waited my entire career for this moment. In this fight, the world will witness how two Thai warriors do battle and our unique fighting spirit.”
“Nong-O is a great champion,” the Fairtex Gym representative said of the reigning champion. “He is very smart and crafty and very well-rounded but I’m the younger man, I’m stronger and hungrier. This is my time and I’m ready to shock the world.”
“ONE: Edge of Greatness” marks the third title defense of Nong-O, who is training out of Evolve MMA in Singapore. He won all of his five bouts in the ONE Championship striking-only league ONE Super Series.
Currently, Nong-O holds a professional Muay Thai record of 260 wins, 54 losses and 1 draw. On the other hand, Saemapetch now has 120 wins, 15 losses and 1 draw after three ONE Super Series wins.
