Training out of Knowlesy Academy in London, England, United Kingdom, Liam Nolan, 22, has earned his first victory in ONE Championship’s striking-only league ONE Super Series. He was one of the winners at “ONE: Edge of Greatness.”
Featuring four Muay Thai matches and seven mixed martial arts matches, ONE Championship held “ONE: Edge of Greatness” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on November 22, 2019. In the first bout of the evening, Nolan competed in a Muay Thai match in the featherweight division against Brown Pinas, 27, of the Netherlands.
Atsushi Onari served as the referee of the featherweight contest between Nolan and Pinas. The two fighters locked horns in a fiery Muay Thai contest that went right down to the wire.
Nolan started the bout on the offensive but Pinas came alive in the second. After three three-minute rounds, the bout was left in the hands of the three judges.
In the end, Onari raised the hand of Nolan. The Knowlesy Academy representative was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
Winning at “ONE: Edge of Greatness” improved the professional Muay Thai record of Nolan to 17 wins, 6 losses and 1 draw. On the other hand, Pinas now has 26 wins, 11 losses and 1 draw.
Including the U.K. and the Netherlands, 14 countries were represented at “ONE: Edge of Greatness.” The others were Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand, the United States and Vietnam.
Nolan was one of the two fighters who represented the U.K. Training out of Arj Trainingen, Pinas was the sole representative of the Netherlands.
