Jamaica’s Toni-Ann Singh crowned Miss World 2019 by Vanessa Ponce in London, England

Toni-Ann Singh, 23, of Jamaica was crowned Miss World 2019 in London, England on December 14, 2019. She bested 110 other candidates from around the world.

Hosted by Peter Andre and Miss World 2013 Megan Young of the Philippines, the Miss World 2019 coronation night took place at the ExCeL London in London and was broadcast on E!, London Live and Univision. It featured performances by Andre, Lulu and the Misunderstood duo Stephan Benson and Jeffrey Okyere.

Runner-up to Singh was Ophély Mézino, 20, of France while Suman Rao, 21, of India was second runner-up. Nyekachi Douglas, 20, of Nigeria and Elís Miele Coelho, 20, of Brazil finished in the Top 5.

Headed by Julia Morley, the panel of judges included Piers Morgan, Mike Dickson, Kamal Ibrahim, Zandra Rhodes, Marsha Rae Ratcliff OBE, Miss World 1975 Wilnelia, Lady Forsyth-Johnson, Miss World 2008 Ksenia Sukhinova, Miss UK 2014 Carina Tyrell and Miss New Zealand 2015 Dr. Deborah Lambie. Two creative directors from KB Couture also served as judges.

Before being crowned Miss World 2019, Singh won the talent competition. She performed “I Have Nothing” by the late Whitney Houston during the coronation night.

Hailing from Morant, Saint Thomas, Jamaica, Singh is now based in Kingston, the capital of Jamaica. The city is home to the Bob Marley Museum, the Devon House, the Emancipation Park, the Hope Botanical Gardens and Zoo, the Jamnesia Surf Club and the Rockfort Mineral Bath.

On September 21, 2019, Singh was crowned Miss World Jamaica 2019. She bested 15 other candidates.

Crowning Singh was Miss World Jamaica 2018 Kadijah Robinson. The latter was third runner-up and Caribbean Queen of Beauty in Miss World 2018 at the Sanya City Arena in Sanya, China on December 8, 2018.

Singh is a Florida State University student who wants to become a medical doctor. Aside from singing, she also enjoys dancing and reading.
