Fighting out of Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia, Ikram Aliskerov, 27, has earned his sixth victory in BRAVE Combat Federation. The Dagestani mixed martial artist was one of the winners at “BRAVE CF 33” at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on December 27, 2019.
Aliskerov seemed like a man on a mission. Fresh off the first defeat of his professional career, the former sambo world champion returned to the BRAVE CF and dominated veteran Diego “The Silencer” Gonzalez, 35, of Stockholm, Sweden en route to a third-round stoppage due to strikes.
It was a bloody and eventful fight. Aliskerov showcased his improved stand-up at middleweight in the main event of “BRAVE CF 33.”
Working a stinging jab from the start, Aliskerov moved very well, avoiding any major damage by the dangerous overhand of Gonzalez while scoring at will with combos and straight punches. The Dagestani contender attempted a flying knee but the fight ended up on the ground as he dominated the first two frames.
On the third round, Aliskerov stepped up and finally got redemption. He stopped a very tough Gonzalez, who held on even though his face was full of cuts and very bloody.
“Diego should change his nickname to Iron Head,” Aliskerov said after winning at “BRAVE CF 33.” “I’ve never hit somebody so hard and he wouldn’t go out. Much respect to him.”
“Thank you to Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa for everything you do in Bahrain and abroad and Saudi Arabia for hosting ‘BRAVE CF 33,'” Aliskerov continued. “I’m back, I know I can be dangerous at both weight-classes but I think middleweight is for me.”
Winning at “BRAVE CF 33” improved the professional MMA record of Aliskerov to 9 wins and 1 loss. The first five opponents he defeated in BRAVE CF were Rufat Asadov of Azerbaijan and Russia, Jeremy “Pitbull” Smith of South Africa, Chad “Superman” Hanekom of South Africa, Joey Berkenbosch, 37, of the Netherlands and Geraldo “Luan Santana” Coelho de Lima Neto, 29, of Brazil.
On the other hand, Gonzalez now has 20 wins, 14 losses, 0 draw and 1 No Contest. He made his BRAVE CF debut at “BRAVE CF 33.”
After “BRAVE CF 33,” BRAVE CF will move on to Slovenia where “BRAVE CF 34” takes place in partnership with leading local promotion WFC. The show will kickstart a tremendous 2020 on January 19, 2020.
