BRAVE Combat Federation will hold an event at the Solnahallen in Stockholm, Sweden on April 18, 2020. For this event, the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion partnered with AK Fighting Championship.
This marks the first time BRAVE CF is holding an event in Sweden. It is the promotion’s fourth event in Europe following previous events in Northern Ireland, England and Romania.
“BRAVE 13: European Evolution” marked the first time BRAVE CF held an event in Europe. It took place at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland on June 9, 2018.
The second BRAVE CF event in Europe was “BRAVE 24: London,” which took place at the Copper Box Arena in London, England on July 25, 2019. Titled “BRAVE CF 28,” the third one took place at the Beraria H in Buccharest, Romania on November 4, 2019.
BRAVE CF and AK Fighting Championship have yet to announce the fight card of the event at the Solnahallen. Swedish MMA fighters are expected to make their debut in the Bahrain-based MMA promotion.
AK Fighting Championship is a Swedish MMA promotion founded by Alexander Khalaf. Its headquarters is located in Skovde, Sweden.
The first ever AK Fighting Championship event took place at the Conventum in Orebro, Sweden on September 29, 2018. It featured 17 amateur MMA fights.
Three amateur MMA fights and seven professional MMA bouts were on the fight card of “AK Fighting Championship 2.” Headlined by middleweight fighters Jonatan Westin, 29, of Sweden and John “Johnny Jitzu” Redmond, 28, of Ireland, it took place at the Solnahallen on November 16, 2019.
Both fighting out of Sweden, Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson, 32, and Anton Turkalj, 23, headlined “AK Fighting Championship 3” at The Theatre in Gothenburg, Sweden. They competed in a grappling bout, which was won by the former.
Gustafsson is a retired MMA fighter. Training out of Allstars Training Center in Stockholm, he competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship from 2009 to 2019.
