Fighting out of Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia, Raimond Magomedaliev (Раймонд Магомедалиев), 29, has earned his first victory in ONE Championship. The Dagestani mixed martial artist was one of the winners at “ONE: A New Tomorrow.”

Featuring six MMA matches, five Muay Thai contests and one kickboxing bout, ONE Championship held “ONE: A New Tomorrow” at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on January 10, 2020. In the sixth bout of the evening, Magomedaliev competed in an MMA bout in the welterweight division against Joey “Mama’s Boy” Pierotti, 30, of Enumclaw, Washington, United States.

Yoshinori Umeki served as the referee. Pierotti was certainly a game challenger for the duration of the contest but Magomedaliev picked this evening to show off his impeccable striking.

Magomedaliev sliced Pierotti with a plethora of sharp elbows to start the bout. The Enumclaw native tried to fall back on his wrestling but his Dagestani opponent proved his ring savvy by avoiding a war on the mat with great takedown defense.

Just under four minutes in, Magomedaliev swept Pierotti from underneath. Umeki put a stop to the welterweight contest after 3 minutes and 50 seconds in the first round when the Dagestani fighter submitted his American opponent via guillotine choke.

Winning at “ONE: A New Tomorrow” improved the professional MMA record of Magomedaliev to 6 wins and 1 losses. It was his second ONE Championship bout.

On the other hand, it was Pierotti’s ONE Championship debut. He now has 12 wins and 2 losses.

Including Russia and the U.S., 15 countries were represented at “ONE: A New Tomorrow.” The other countries were Algeria, Brazil, China, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Thailand, the United Kingdom and Vietnam.

A former COGA Welterweight Champion, Pierotti made his ONE Championship debut at “ONE: A New Tomorrow.” He studied Fire Science at Bellevue College in Bellevue, Washington and is training out of Combat Sports and Fitness in Enumclaw.

Born in Makhachkala on June 10, 1990, Magomedaliev is a Russian Hand-to-Hand Combat World Champion who is training out of Eagles MMA in Dagestan. He was undefeated from 2015 to early 2018.
