The 19th ONE Championship bout of Honorio “The Rock” Banario, 30, of Mankayan, Benguet, Philippines will be at “ONE: King of the Jungle.” The Team Lakay representative will face Shannon “One Shin” Wiratchai, 31, of Bangkok, Thailand.

Featuring mixed martial arts bouts and kickboxing contests, ONE Championship will hold “ONE: King of the Jungle” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on February 28, 2020. One of the MMA bouts is between Banario and Wiratchai, who will battle it out in the featherweight division.

This marks Banario’s return to the featherweight division. He started with this division in ONE Championship but continued in the lightweight division.

Competing professionally since 2010, Banario joined ONE Championship in 2012. The Mankayan native is the first ever Filipino MMA champion of an international promotion.

On February 2, 2013, Banario became the inaugural ONE Featherweight World Champion. He held the title until May 31, 2013.

Beating Wiratchai at “ONE: King of the Jungle” may prove that Banario is better in the featherweight division than in the lightweight division. The Igorot MMA fighter is coming out of three consecutive losses in the lightweight division.

Currently, Banario holds a professional MMA record of 14 wins and 10 losses. On the other hand, Wiratchai has 9 wins, 5 losses, 0 draw and 1 No Contest.

Like Banario, Wiratchai is coming out of three consecutive losses in the lightweight division. The Thai MMA fighter is training out of Bangkok Fight Lab in Bangkok and Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket, Thailand.

Born in Thailand on November 14, 1988, Wiratchai has been competing professionally since 2011. He joined ONE Championship in 2012.

Wiratchai’s first opponent in ONE Championship was Mitch “The Dragon” Chilson, 41, of Pennsylvania, United States, who is now a commentator in the Singapore-based martial arts promotion. The bout ended in a No Contest.
