Ivica “Terror” Trušček, 32, Zagreb, Croatia and Benoit “God of War” Saint Denis, 24, of Paris, France co-headlined “BRAVE CF 34” on January 19, 2020. The Croatian contender entered the cage as an undefeated mixed martial artist.
“BRAVE CF 34”was held simultaneously with “WFC 24” as part of the partnership between MMA promotions BRAVE Combat Federation and World Freefight Challenge, which are based in Bahrain and Slovenia, respectively. BRAVE CF made its first incursion in the Balkans in a packed Tivoli Hall as the only truly global MMA organization has landed with a rousing success in Slovenia.
In the co-main event of the evening, Trušček and St. Denis competed in the welterweight division. The referee put a stop to the contest in the first round when the French contender submitted his Croatian opponent via kneebar.
Losing to St. Denis downgraded the professional MMA record of Trušček to 38 wins and 35 losses. It was his first BRAVE CF bout.
Winning at “BRAVE CF 34” improved the professional MMA record of St. Denis to 5 wins, 0 loss, 0 draw and 1 No Contest. It was his second bout in BRAVE CF and first victory in the promotion.
When St. Denis made his BRAVE CF debut at “BRAVE CF 28” at Beraria H in Bucharest, Romania on November 4, 2019, he faced Pawel Kielek, 24, of Olsztyn, Poland. The bout ended in a No Contest due to doctor stoppage.
In the main event of “BRAVE CF 34” and “WFC 24,” Luka Podkrajsek, 30, of Slovenia and Viktor Vasic, 35, of Bosnia and Herzegovina competed for the inaugural WFC Heavyweight Championship. The Slovenian contender won via split decision.
