Did Amber Heard lie about ‘Minamata’ star Johnny Depp hitting her?

Fans of Johnny Depp, 56, will see him play war photographer W. Eugene Smith in “Minamata“, which will premiere in the Berlin International Film Festival in Berlin, Germany in February 2020. While waiting for the film, they are seeking justice for him after his former wife Amber Heard, 33, is heard admitting to him in a series of conversations between the two in a therapy session taped in 2015.

“I’m sorry that I didn’t… hit you across the face in a proper slap but I was hitting you,” Heard says audio confession obtained exclusively by Daily Mail. “It was not punching you. Babe, you’re not punched.”

The evening before Heard said these, she had an outburst. She said, “I don’t know what the motion of my actual hand was but you’re fine.

“I did not hurt you,” Heard continued. “I did not punch you. I was hitting you.”

“You are such a baby,” Heard said. “Grow the f–k up, Johnny.”

Ironically, Heard is a women’s rights ambassador and a domestic violence advocate. She also gave Depp a warning.

“You poke an animal enough,” Heard told Depp. “It is eventually. It doesn’t matter how friendly it is. It’s not cool.”

In 2018, Heard wrote an op-ed for the Washington Post. She mentioned that the #MeToo movement has taught the world about how power works not just in Hollywood but in all kinds of institutions.

“Questions arose as to whether I would be able to keep my role of Mera in the movies ‘Justice League’ and ‘Aquaman,'” Heard wrote. “I had the rare vantage point of seeing, in real time, how institutions protect men accused of abuse.”

In 2019, Depp sued Heard for $50 million for defamation over the op-ed. He accused her of demonstrating willfulness and maliciousness when she knowingly published the op-ed with the false implication that he violently abused her.

Depp met Heard on the set of the comedy-drama film “The Rum Diary,” which was released on October 28, 2011. They got married on February 3, 2015 at their home in Los Angeles, California, United States.

On May 23, 2016, Heard filed for divorce from Depp, accusing him of verbally and physically abusing her throughout their relationship, which he denied. They settled their divorce out of court on August 16, 2016 for $7 million, which she donated to charity.
