Stephen “The Sniper” Loman, 23, has once again captured the most coveted individual award of the year. Training out of Team Lakay in La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines, the BRAVE Combat Federation Bantamweight World Champion has been named Fighter of the Year for the second time in a row by a panel of judges from the BRAVE Insider Podcast.
In 2019, Loman defended his belt twice, passing his biggest challenges to date with flying colors. On March 15, 2019, the Igorot mixed martial artist had a much deserved homecoming, headlining “BRAVE CF 22: Storm of Warriors,” which took place in his home country at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
At “BRAVE CF 22: Storm of Warriors,” Loman took on former Brave CF Featherweight Champion Elias “Smile” Boudegzdame, 25, of France. The hometown hero ran through the French-Algerian fighter, stopping him in the fourth round with a violent technical knockout that sent shockwaves through the division.
Loman then traveled to Hyderabad, India to produce the first ever world title fight in Indian territory. At “BRAVE CF 30,” he took on Louie “Leonidas” Sanoudakis, 30, of Canada and went on a rampage again, beating his rival by unanimous decision and maintaining his belt in dominant fashion.
With the win in Hyderabad, Loman extended his dominance as the longest reigning world champion from BRAVE CF. He is the only world champion at the Bahrain-based MMA promotion’s bantamweight division and has defended his title four times in a row.
No other titleholder in BRAVE CF history has been able to defend his belt more than one time. Meanwhile, here is a clip featuring Loman congratulating BRAVE CF founder Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, 30, on his appointment as the president of the Bahrain Olympic Committee in 2019:
