Adline Mewis Quadros Castelino, 21, will represent India at Miss Universe 2020. It will be the 69th edition of the international beauty pageant owned by the WME/IMG talent agency.
Born in Kuwait City, Kuwait on May 24, 1998 to Alphonsus Castelino and Meera Castelino, who are from Udupi, Karnakata, India, Adline attended Indian Central School in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Kuwait. When Adline was 15 years old, she moved to Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
For Adline’s secondary education, she went to St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, which is affiliated with the University of Mumbai. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from at the Wilson College in Mumbai, which is one of the oldest colleges in India.
Representing Udupi, Adline competed against 19 other candidates at Miss Diva 2020. She won the top title, which is Miss Universe India 2020.
One of the preliminary events of Miss Diva 2020 took place at Bennett University on February 8, 2020. The candidates played badminton, basketball, snooker and table tennis and Adline received the Miss Smasher award for her performance in badminton.
During the coronation night, which was hosted by Malaika Arora Khan and Sachin Kumbhar on February 22, 2020 at the Yash Raj Studio in Andheri West, Mumbai, Aavriti Choudhary, 21, of Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India won the second highest title, which is Miss Diva Supranational 2020. Neha Jaiswal, 23, of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh was Miss Diva 2020 runner-up.

Adline succeeded Vartika Singh, 26, of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. The latter finished in the Top 20 in Miss Universe 2019 at the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, which was won by Catriona Gray, 26, of the Philippines.
Details about the date and venue of Miss Universe 2020 have yet to be announced. The reigning Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi, 26, is from Cape Town, South Africa.
If Adline wins Miss Universe 2020, she will be the beauty pageant’s third titleholder from India. The first two were Sushmita Sen, 44, and Lara Dutta, 41, who were crowned in the Philippines 1994 and in Cyprus in 2000, respectively.
