13 things about Mrs. Sarah Geronimo-Guidicelli

Sarah Asher Tua Geronimo-Guidicelli, 31, who is professionally known as Sarah Geronimo, is the wife of Gianmatteo Fernan Guidicelli, 29. The two got married at the Victory Church in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines on February 20, 2020.

It was a secret and controversial Christian wedding. Meanwhile, here are 13 important facts about Sarah, one of the best vocalists from Asia:

  1. She was born in Santa Cruz, Manila, Philippines on July 25, 1988 to Delfin Geronimo and Divina Tua.
  2. For her primary education, she went to Dominican School Manila in Sampaloc, Manila.
  3. She attended the University of Santo Tomas Education High School in Sampaloc but moved to Angelicum College also in Sampaloc to complete her secondary education.
  4. She studied an Associate in Arts program at the University of the Philippines Open University.
  5. The first singing contest she joined was Tuklas Talino, which was sponsored by the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), where her father used to work.
  6. In 1995, she made her film debut by playing one of the classmates of Camille Pratts’ character in the Star Cinema movie “Sarah… Ang Munting Prinsesa.”
  7. She was 14 years old when she won 1 million pesos and a managerial contract from Viva Entertainment as the grand winner of the Philippine version of the British singing contest “Star for a Night,” which aired on IBC and was hosted by Regine Velasquez.
  8. Her first major character in a film was Kathlyn in the 2003 movie “Filipinas,” which also starred Maricel Soriano, Richard Gomez, Aiko Melendez, Dawn Zulueta, Victor Neri, Wendell Ramos, Raymond Bagatsing and the late Armida Siguion-Reyna.
  9. She won the Best Asian Artist award at the Mnet Asian Music Awards in Hong Kong in 2012.
  10. She was named the Best Southeast Asian Act at the MTV Europe Awards in the United Kingdom in 2014.
  11. She was the most streamed Filipino artist in Spotify Philippines from 2014 to 2020.
  12. She was recognized as the Asian Artist of the Year at Hello Asia Awards in Australia in 2015 and in 2016.
  13. She was honored as the Best Asian Performer at the Classic Rock Awards in 2016 in Japan.
