Abdul-Kareem “Pride of Palestine” Al-Selwady, 24, of Amman, Jordan is the star of the newly-released featured documentary of British Broadcasting Corporation World Service titled “Pride of Palestine.” The 27-minute picture portrays the preparation and fight week adrenaline of the former BRAVE Combat Federation Lightweight World Champion before “BRAVE CF 23.”

Featuring 12 mixed martial arts bouts, BRAVE CF held “BRAVE CF 23” at the Martyr Rashid Al-Ziyoud Hall Boxing Arena in Amman on April 19, 2019. In the 10th bout of the evening, Al-Selwady defended his belt from Luan “Miau” Santiago, 25, of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil.

It was the first title defense of Al-Selwady as the BRAVE CF Lightweight World Champion. He lost the title to Santiago via knockout via spinning elbow in the first round.

The “Pride of Palestine” documentary starts with the eight-week preparation leading to the fight at “BRAVE CF 23.” It was recorded in Dallas, Texas, United States and Amman where the film crew had exclusive access to BRAVE CF’s backstage during the fight week.

As shown in the BBC documentary, the adverse outcome of Al-Selwady’s loss only adds an extra layer of truth and drama to the story. It shows that the fight is definitely not only fought inside the cage and its repercussions and effects go way beyond the official announcement.

By number of employees, BBC is the biggest broadcaster worldwide. It is present around the globe since 1932 with the BBC World Service, which provides content in 32 languages including the BBC Arabic through which the “Pride of Palestine” documentary was released.

After starting 2020 with its debut in Slovenia, BRAVE CF is currently preparing the last details for its upcoming show in Brazil. The Bahrain-based MMA promotion will land in the South American country on March 28, 2020 for “BRAVE CF 35.” The event will be held in the city of Balneário Camboriú, Santa Catarina, Brazil and will feature 13 international fights.

In the main event of “BRAVE CF 35,” Guram Kutateladze, 28, of Sweden will challenge reigning BRAVE CF Lightweight Champion Cleiton “Predador” Silva, 34, of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Meanwhile, watch the full “Pride of Palestine” documentary in Arabic with English subtitles here:
