Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa (KHK) Sports and Mack The Knife (MTK) Global will host a pioneering boxing summit in Bahrain in September 2020. UFC fighter Darren “The Gorilla” Till, 27, of Liverpool, Merseyside, England, United Kingdom and his trainer Colin Heron shared their thoughts about the partnership.
Heron, the Team Kaobon founder and chief instructor, called the partnership “another huge, groundbreaking and pioneering move by MTK Global teaming up with KHK Sports, bringing everyone in combat sports together for the progression and development of combat sports.” He added that “this act of unity is huge and exciting news for everyone involved.”
Prior to the announcement of the boxing summit, KHK Sports appointed MTK Global co-founder Daniel Kinahan, 42, of Ireland as a special advisor. He has been instrumental in securing some of the biggest global events in the sport and as advisor for Top Rank in the MENA region, he has expertise and connections that will strengthen the KHK Sports brand and immediately expand its international reach.
“When I heard that Daniel Kinahan has been appointed as advisor to KHK, I thought wow what a huge move,” Till shared. “It proves KHK want to make some serious impact. I am excited to see what will come out of the region in the near future, a true power alliance, I personally can’t wait to see what this brings.”
KHK Sports is a vision of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, 30, of Bahrain. He is his home country’s first deputy president of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, the Bahrain Olympic Committee president and the BRAVE Combat Federation founder.
“We will create opportunities for Bahraini fighters on the international stage whilst attracting the biggest names in the sport to the kingdom,” Kinahan said. “His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa has been visionary in his approach to the sport and has built KHK Sports out of passion which is paramount to continued growth and inspiration of the people of Bahrain.”
