After appointing Daniel Kinahan as a special advisor, Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa (KHK) Sports announced that it is delving into the world of professional boxing. The company’s boxing division has cemented landmark deals for the development of the sport in the Kingdom of Bahrain and will now take its brand into the international boxing scene.

The move is another milestone for KHK Sports, which was founded by His Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa to aid the development of the sport initially in Bahrain and now worldwide. A driving force behind several high-profile achievements for sports in the country, he has led Team Bahrain to the top of international mixed martial arts with the number one country in the IMMAF world rankings with the historic achievement proving Bahrain is the home of the sport worldwide.
Al Khalifa has also been responsible for the rise of several future superstars in MMA as Bahrain is the home of the number one and number two pound-for-pound senior amateur fighters in the world. His KHK MMA Team is also the home of the number one pound-for-pound junior amateur fighter.
Through Al Khalifa’s work as the president of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, he has also empowered e-sports around Bahrain with KHK e-sports tournament, the largest e-gaming competition the country has ever seen. His charity work with KHK Heroes has also seen more than 14,000 food packs delivered to the needful throughout the country as companies aggregated to help the less fortunate go through a difficult time during the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
As the leader and founder of BRAVE Combat Federation, Al Khalifa has also overseen the first global awareness campaign held by an MMA promotion. #BRAVECombatsCovid19 has been an astounding success as fighters, fans and personalities from around the world have joined the collaboration to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

Through KHK Sports, KHK Boxing had already made waves recently partnering up with the World Boxing Council to create the first-ever Arab World Championship belt, in a move that will empower and aid the development of the sport in the Middle East. KHK Sports CEO and BRAVE CF president Mohammed Shahid spoke about the new opportunities that will inevitably arise from the expansion.
“KHK Boxing has been working diligently on the amateur scene, providing young athletes with the opportunities to develop their skills and test themselves at the highest level,” Shahid said. “This move into the professional world of boxing will allow the company to extend its help in the development of the sport, this time on a worldwide scale.”
