After starring in “You” Season 2, Chris D’Elia is returning to the big screen. The Italian-Polish-American comedian will star in the films “Film Fest,” “Army of the Dead” and “Life in a Year.”

In 2019, D’Elia appeared in three episodes of “You” Season 2, which was released on Netflix on December 26, 2019. He played a recurring character named Joshua “Henderson” Bunter, a famous stand-up comedian in Los Angeles, California, United States.

Also in 2019, D’Elia voiced DJ Riggs in the horror, sci-fi comedy film “The Drone.” Directed by Jordan Rubin, it starred Alex Essoe, John Brotherton, Anita Briem, Gonzalo Menendez, Sam Adegoke, Neil Sandilands and Simon Rex, among others.

But the film D’Elia physically appeared in was “Half Magic,” in which he played Peter Brock. Released in the U.S. on February 23, 2018, the romantic comedy movie starred Heather Graham, the director and the writer, along with Angela Kinsey and Stephanie Beatriz.

In “Film Fest,” D’Elia will play a character named Josh. Marshall Cook, the director, and Paul Alan Cope co-wrote the screenplay of the movie, which is about struggling filmmakers travel to an obscure festival to sell their movie.

In “Life in a Year,” which was executive produced by Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, D’Elia’s character is named Phil. Written by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews and directed by Mitja Okorn, the romantic drama is about a teenage boy named Daryn (Jaden Smith) who finds out that his girlfriend Isabelle (Cara Delevingne) is dying.

In “Army of the Dead,” D’Elia’s character is named Martin. Zack Snyder, the director, co-wrote the screenplay of the zombie film with Shay Hatten and Joby Harold.

Set to be released on Netflix, “Army of the Dead” is about a group of mercenaries who plot a heist on a casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA during a zombie outbreak. Among D’Elia’s co-stars are Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Ana de la Reguera, Garret Dillahunt, Raul Castillo, Hiroyuki Sanada, Huma Qureshi, Matthias Schweighöfer and Omari Hardwick.

The respective release dates of “Film Fest,” “Army of the Dead” and “Life in a Year” have yet to be announced. Meanwhile, while on hiatus during the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, D’Elia regularly hosts his “Congratulations with Chris D’Elia” podcast.
