Liu Yifei plays the title role in “Mulan,” the live-action adaptation of Disney’s 1998 animated film of the same name. The live-action version was originally scheduled to be released in the United States on July 25, 2020.
However, due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the “Mulan” release date has been moved to August 21, 2020. In a statement obtained by Deadline, The Walt Disney Studios chairmen Alan Bergman and Alan Horn said, “While the pandemic has changed our release plans for ‘Mulan’ and we will continue to be flexible as conditions require, it has not changed our belief in the power of this film and its message of hope and perseverance.”
