Fatih Aktas, 30, of Turkey will make his BRAVE Combat Federation debut at “BRAVE CF 37.” It will be his ninth professional mixed martial arts bout.
Born on August 21, 1989, Aktas is originally from Eskisehir, Turkey but he is currently based in Simmering, Wien, Austria. Before joining BRAVE CF, he had six professional MMA bouts in Austria, one in Czech Republic and one in Italy.
BRAVE CF will hold “BRAVE CF 37” in Stockholm, Sweden on August 1, 2020. It marks Aktas’s first professional MMA bout in the country.
“I am thankful to BRAVE Combat Federation for this opportunity and InshaAllah,” Aktas stated. “I will not disappoint my country. I respect my opponent and I have seen his fights.”
Aktas will fight Irman “The People’s Champ” Smajić, 37, of Sweden. They will battle it out in the heavyweight division.
“He is a big, strong guy but he never faced a guy like me,” Aktas said of Smajić. “I know he is a great standup guy and loves to hit hard but I am prepared for him.”
For this bout, Aktas has been training with some Dagestani and Chechen fighters. The Turkish MMA fighter praises the efforts of his coaches, training partners and manager.
“All of this would not be possible without Arif Aktas, my teammates Arbi Mezhidov, Ibo Aslan, Sado Ucar, Aleksander Rakic and my manager Muhammad Rizvan Ali who is taking care of us as athletes,” Aktas said. “I won’t disappoint the team.”
Considered one of the top prospects of Turkish MMA, Aktas currently holds a professional MMA record of 5 wins and 3 losses. His most recent bout was at “Fight1 Promotion: Night of Siam 3” in Pisa, Italy where he knocked out Matteo Riccetti, 32, of Italy.
Like Aktas, Smajić will make his BRAVE CF debut at “BRAVE CF 37.” The Bosnian-Swedish MMA fighter currently holds a professional MMA record of 2 wins and 0 loss.
Born in Glamoč, Bosnia and Herzegovina on January 11, 1983, Smajić is now based in Västervik, Sweden. He previously competed in Superior Challenge and Excellence Fighting Championship.
“BRAVE CF 37” is the first BRAVE CF event to take place in Sweden. The Bahrain-based MMA promotion will hold it in partnership with Swedish MMA promotion Bulldog Fight Night.
