Tanner “The Bulldozer” Boser, 28, of Alberta, Canada has shown his knockout power yet again. The Canadian mixed martial artist was one of the winners at “UFC on ESPN 14,” which marked his third victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Featuring 15 MMA bouts, “UFC on ESPN 14” took place on the UFC Fight Island on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on July 25, 2020 in the United States or July 26, 2020 in the UAE. In the fourth bout of the evening, Boser fought Raphael “Bebezao” Pessoa, 31, of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in the heavyweight division.
Herb Dean served as the referee of the heavyweight contest. He put a stop to the bout after 2 minutes and 36 seconds in the second round when Boser knocked out Pessoa via punches.
Winning at “UFC on ESPN 14” improved Boser’s professional MMA record to 19 wins and 6 losses. It was the 10th time the Canadian MMA fighter knocked out an opponent in a professional MMA bout.
On the other hand, Pessoa now has 10 wins and 2 losses. “UFC on ESPN 14” marked his second loss in the UFC.
No Fight of the Night bonus was awarded at “UFC on ESPN 14.” There were six Performance of the Night winners namely Boser, Fabrício “Vai Cavalo” Werdum, 42, of Brazil, Paul “Bearjew” Craig, 32, of Scotland, Khamzat “Borz” Chimaev, 26, of Sweden, Jesse “The Body Snatcher” Ronson, 34, of Canada and Tom Aspinall, 27, of England.
Competing professionally since 2012, Boser joined the UFC in 2019. In his promotional debut at “UFC on ESPN 6,” he defeated Daniel “Daddy Long Legs” Spitz, 29, of Spokane, Washington, USA via unanimous decision.
On June 27, 2020, Boser earned his second win in the UFC. He fought Philipe “Monstro” Lins, 34, of Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil in the heavyweight division at “UFC Vegas 4” at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
