Jesse “The Body Snatcher” Ronson, 34, of London, Ontario, Canada earned his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut with flying colors. The Canadian mixed martial artist was one of the winners at “UFC on ESPN 14.”
Featuring 15 MMA bouts, “UFC on ESPN 14” took place on the UFC Fight Island on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on July 25, 2020 in the United States or July 26, 2020 in the UAE. In the seventh bout of the evening, Ronson fought Nicolas “Lokomotivo” Dalby, 35, of Copenhagen, Denmark in the welterweight division.
Marc Goddard served as the referee of the welterweight contest. He put a stop to the bout after 2 minutes and 48 seconds in the first round when Ronson knocked out Dalby via rear-naked choke.
Winning at “UFC on ESPN 14” improved Ronson’s professional MMA record to 22 wins and 10 losses. It was the eighth time the Ontario native submitted an opponent in a professional MMA bout.
On the other hand, Dalby now has 18 wins, 4 losses, 1 draw and 1 No Contest. “UFC on ESPN 14” marked his third loss in the UFC.
No Fight of the Night bonus was awarded at “UFC on ESPN 14.” There were six Performance of the Night winners namely Ronson, Fabrício “Vai Cavalo” Werdum, 42, of Brazil, Paul “Bearjew” Craig, 32, of Scotland,Khamzat “Borz” Chimaev, 26, of Sweden, Tom Aspinall, 27, of England and Tanner “The Bulldozer” Boser, 28, of Canada.
Born in London on December 24, 1985, Ronson won five championships as a kickboxer and one championship as a boxer. As an MMA fighter, he has been competing professionally since 2009.
Ronson trains at the Adrenaline Training Centre in Lonson. He made his UFC debut in 2013 and he lost his first two fights in the promotion both via split decision.
After the two consecutive UFC losses, Ronson competed in other promotions namely Provincial Fighting Championships, Abu Dhabi Warriors, Xcessive Force Fighting Championship, TKO Major League MMA, Absolute Championship Akhmat, Professional Fighters League and BTC Fight Promotions.
