
Tom Aspinall, 27, of Atherton, Wigan, Greater Manchester, England made his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut with a bang. The English mixed martial artist was one of the winners at “UFC on ESPN 14.”
Featuring 15 MMA bouts, “UFC on ESPN 14” took place on the UFC Fight Island on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on July 25, 2020 in the United States or July 26, 2020 in the UAE. In the sixth bout of the evening, Aspinall fought Jake “The Prototype” Collier, 31, of Cuba, Missouri, United States in the heavyweight division.
Daniel Movahedi served as the referee of the heavyweight contest. He put a stop to the bout after 45 seconds in the first round when Aspinall knocked out Collier via knee and punches.
It was the quickest match at “UFC on ESPN 14.” It was also the fourth fastest debut finish in the heavyweight division of the UFC.
Winning at “UFC on ESPN 14” improved Aspinall’s professional MMA record to 8 wins and 2 losses. It was the seventh time the Wigan native knocked out an opponent in a professional MMA bout.
On the other hand, Collier now has 11 wins and 5 losses. “UFC on ESPN 14” marked his fourth loss in the UFC.
No Fight of the Night bonus was awarded at “UFC on ESPN 14.” There were six Performance of the Night winners namely Aspinall, Fabrício “Vai Cavalo” Werdum, 42, of Brazil, Paul “Bearjew” Craig, 32, of Scotland,Khamzat “Borz” Chimaev, 26, of Sweden, Jesse “The Body Snatcher” Ronson, 34, of Canada and Tanner “The Bulldozer” Boser, 28, of Canada.

Aspinall has been competing professionally since 2014. Before his UFC debut, he competed in MMA Versus UK, BAMMA, Full Contact Contender and Cage Warriors Fighting Championship.
A Brazilian jiujitsu black belt, Aspinall spars with Tyson “Gypsy King” Fury, 31, of Cheshire, England and trains with Darren “The Gorilla” Till, 27, of Liverpool, Merseyside, England. In the main event of “UFC on ESPN 14,” Till lost to Robert “The Reaper” Whittaker, 29, of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
As a professional boxer, Aspinall holds a record of 1 win and 0 loss. He also holds a professional Muay Thai record of 2 wins and 0 loss.
