Wondergirl Fairtex, 21, of Thailand has earned her first victory in ONE Championship‘s striking-only league ONE Super Series. The Thai martial artist was one of the “ONE: No Surrender 3” winners.

Featuring four Muay Thai and two MMA matches, “ONE: No Surrender 3” took place in Bangkok, Thailand on August 21, 2020. In the third bout of the evening, Worndergirl fought Brooke Farrell, 28, of Australia in a Muay Thai contest in the strawweight division.

Kregklai Klaokleng served as the referee. A two-time Thailand Muay Thai Champion, Wondergirl put together a smashing performance, using speed and power to overwhelm Farrell, who is a World Boxing Council Oceania Muay Thai Champion.

Wondergirl showcased her pinpoint accuracy, connecting on a variety of punch combinations from range. A series of right hands then dropped Farrell just a couple of minutes into the first round.

As soon as the Farrell got back to her feet, Wondergirl swarmed her opponent with straight punches to complete the impressive first round knockout. Klaokeng put a stop to the strawweight contest after 1 minute and 21 seconds in the first round when the Thai contender knocked out her Australian opponent.

Winning at “ONE: No Surrender” improved the professional Muay Thai record of Wondergirl to 34 wins, 16 losses and 2 draws. On the other hand, Farrell now has 14 wins, 12 losses and 1 draw.

Both Wondergirl and Farrell were ONE Super Series debutantes. The former trains at the Fairtex Training Center in Pattaya, Thailand while the latter trains at Power House Phuket in Rawai, Phuket, Thailand.

Eight countries were represented at “ONE: No Surrender 3” namely Australia, Cambodia, Estonia, France, Japan, Thailand, the U.K. and the U.S. Farrell solely represented Australia while Wondergirl was one of the five representatives of the host country.

Originally from Jaroonsak Muay Thai Gym in Bangkok, Wondergirl is now training at Fairtex Training Center in Pattaya, Thailand. Her father is former Sor Vorapin fighter Jaroonsak.

Farrell was not Wondergirl’s first Australian opponent. The Thai fighter once challenged Alma Juniku of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia for her WBC MuayThai Bantamweight World Championship title and lost.

Juniku currently competes in ONE Super Series. In 2019, she unsuccessfully challenged ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Stamp Fairtex, who is Wondergirl’s teammate. In a recent interview with Santai Muay Thai Gym, Wondergirl said, “I want to focus on Muay Thai and become a Champion, then I want to fight MMA like Stamp Fairtex.”

Hailing from Gold Coast, Queensland, Farrell is the wife of Muay Thai fighter Eddie Farrell. The couple has been living in Thailand since 2015.

Brooke was born in the Gold Coast on August 13, 1991. Her love for Muay Thai started with a trial session in Melbourne, Australia.
