Dustin Hunter “DJ” Johnson is a professional golfer from South Carolina, United States. He attended Dutch Fork High School in Irmo, South Carolina and earned his bachelor’s degree in sports management from Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina.

Johnson has been playing golf professionally since 2007. He won the 116th United States Open Championship, which was held at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont and Plum, Pennsylvania, USA from June 16-19, 2016.

During the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, he competed in the 120th US. Open, which was held at the Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York, USA from September 17–20, 2020, and finished T6 along with Will Zalatoris, Tony Finau, Zach Johnson, Rory McIlroy, Webb Simpson and Justin Thomas.

  1. He was born in Columbia, South Carolina to Scott Johnson, a former club pro, and Kandee Johnson. In 1988, his father took him to the range for the first time.
  2. He met his coach Allen Terrell at Coastal Carolina University. The two collaboratively founded the Dustin Johnson Golf School at TPC Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.
  3. He and Brooks Koepka train together with coach Joey Diovisalvi in a gym in Jupiter, Florida, USA.
