Chris Daukaus biography: 13 things about MMA fighter, cop from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Christopher “Chris” P. Daukaus Jr. is a professional mixed martial artist and a police officer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. His younger brother Kyle Daukaus is also a professional MMA fighter.

As an MMA fighter, Chris competes in the heavyweight division. He stands 6’2″ and a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt.

From 2013 to 2019, Chris competed in Xtreme Fight Events (XFE), Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC), King of the Cage (KOTC), Ring of Combat (ROC) and Classic Entertainment and Sports (CES MMA). Here are 13 more things about him:

  1. He was born in Philadelphia on September 25, 1989 to Christopher Daukaus Sr. and Sarah Daukaus.
  2. He is a resident of Parkwood, Philadelphia. He worked at a local supermarket before becoming a police officer and an MMA fighter.
  3. In 2007, he graduated from Northeast Catholic High School in Philadelphia. He attended Penn State University in Pennsylvania but did not graduate.
  4. In 2010, the Philadelphia Police Department hired him. He patrols the 24th district in North Philadelphia. His father also attended Northeast Catholic High School and led SWAT units for the Philadelphia Police Department.
  5. As an MMA fighter, he is a protégé of his fellow Philadelphia native and MMA fighter Will Martinez. He trains at Martinez BJJ in Mayfair, Philadelphia.
  6. When he made his professional MMA debut at “XFE: Cage Wars 27” on October 19, 2013 at the Harrah’s Chester Casino and Racetrack in Chester, Pennsylvania, he knocked out Robert “Bobby”Duvalle of North Carolina, USA.
  7. On July 18, 2015, he knocked out Jeffrey Blachly of Annapolis, Maryland, USA at “CFFC 50” at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA, which was his first professional MMA bout outside Philadelphia. In the same venue, they had their rematch at “CFFC 62” on December 17, 2016. He won again but via unanimous decision.
  8. On April 22, 2016, he married his fellow Philadelphia native Kelly Daukaus. They welcomed their first child in 2018.
  9. On September 21, 2018, he knocked out Edwin Smart of New Jersey at “ROC 65” in Atlantic City. It was his second professional MMA bout in New Jersey.
  10. On August 15, 2020, he made his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut at “UFC 252” at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. He accepted the fight on a 10-day notice and knocked out Parker Porter of Hartford, Connecticut, USA.
  11. On October 10, 2020, he knocked out Rodrigo “Ze Colmeia” Nascimento Ferreira of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil at “UFC Fight Night 179,” also known as “UFC on ESPN+ 37″ and “UFC Fight Island 5” on October 11, 2020 on the Flash Forum on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. He was one of the Performance of the Night bonus winrers. It was his second UFC bout and first professional MMA bout in the UAE, in Asia and outside the U.S.
  12. He is represented by the Empire Sports Marketing and Management, which is based in New Jersey.
  13. He is an ambassador of the Few Will Hunt brand, which is based in Philadelphia.
