Mikal Nelson Norman, 20, Latravia Charm Bell, 21, and Nathaniel Bernard Roberson, 31, are the identified suspects involved in the fatal shooting of Gregory Boyd in Miami, Florida, United States. Bell and Roberson have been arrested while Norman is still at large.
Boyd died on September 10, 2020 in the Jackson Memorial Hospital Ryder Trauma Center in Miami. He was 54.
That day, Boyd went The Village Flea Market and Mall in the West Little River neighborhood of Miami-Dade County, Florida to buy food for the family. At 6:05 p.m., he was shot in the chest and the leg while he was walking back to his car in the parking lot in front of Shoe Time near The Village Flea Market and Mall in the area of Northwest 27th Avenue and 79th Street.
The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officers who responded to the scene transported Boyd to the Jackson Memorial Hospital Ryder Trauma Center. He died a short time after arriving at the medical center.
Miami residents, especially the members of the New Birth Harvest Outreach Ministries Churches of Deliverance in Miami, condemned the fatal shooting of Boyd. He founded the church in 2011.
On October 16, 2020, Miami-Dade Police Department officers arrested Bell and Robertson for the fatal shooting of Boyd. During questioning by the police, the two suspects confessed to their involvement in the fatal shooting of the late pastor.
Boyd was not the intended target of Roberson, Bell and Norman. The victim was caught in the crossfire when the three suspects ambushed and shot at four people in a crowded parking lot outside the Shoe Time store near the Village Flea Market and Mall.
Like Boyd, Bell, Roberson and Norman are all Miami residents. The victim and the three suspects are all African-American.
Norman registered to vote in Miami-Dade County on April 26, 2018. He is affiliated with the Florida Democratic Party.
Born in August 2000, Norman does not have any previous criminal record. He is related to Lenetha M. Norman, Marvin Tyrone Norman, Renitha M. Norman, Tavares T. Mansfield and Tavaria Donnesha Mansfield.
