The list of official candidates of the inaugural edition of Miss Universe Philippines was revealed on Valentine’s Day. Some of the candidates were chosen from among those who were called at the headquarters of the organization for the initial screening while the others were recommended by accredited partners from all over the Philippines.
Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados was originally set to crown her successor on May 3, 2020 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. However, this was cancelled due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
On February 14, 2020, a total of 52 Miss Universe Philippines 2020 candidates were officially introduced at the Maynila Ballroom of The Manila Hotel in Ermita, Manila, Metro Manila. However, only 46 candidates will compete from October 15-25, 2020 at the Baguio Country Club in Baguio City, Philippines.
This marks the first time the representative of the country to Miss Universe is chosen from a standalone beauty pageant. Here are the names of the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 candidates and the respective provinces and cities they represent:
