Dami Im (임다미) is an Australian singer-songwriter of Korean descent. She was born in Seoul, South Korea to Im Dong-eal and Lee Hae-yun.

Dami has a younger brother named Kenny Im. Their mother is a trained opera singer.

As an instrumentalists, Dami can play the piano, the violin and the flute. Here are 13 more things about her:

  1. When she was 5 years old, she started learning to play the piano.
  2. When she was 9, she moved to Australia with her mother and Kenny. They stayed in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
  3. When she was 11, she started studying piano at the Young Conservatorium of Music program at Griffith University in Brisbane. She later earned her masters of music studies degree in contemporary voice from the same university.
  4. In 2005, she graduated from John Paul College in Daisy Hill, Queensland.
  5. In 2009, she graduated from the University of Queensland in Brisbane with first class honors in a bachelor of music.
  6. In 2010, she released her debut studio album titled “Dream.”
  7. On December 5, 2011, she released her debut extended play titled “Snow and Carol.”
  8. On July 9, 2012, she released her second EP titled “Intimacy.”
  9. She is the winner of “The X Factor Australia” Season 5, which aired on Seven Network from July 29, 2013 to October 28, 2013. As the winner, she received a recording contract with Sony Music Australia, which released her second studio album titled “Dami Im” on November 15, 2013 and her third studio album titled “Heart Beats” on October 14, 2014.
  10. She represented Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 where she placed second. She achieved the highest Eurovision score for Australia with 511 points while the winner Jamala of Ukraine earned 534 points. On April 22, 2016, Sony Music Australia released her fourth studio album titled “Classic Carpenters.”
  11. On March 23, 2018, Sony Music Australia released her fifth studio album titled “I Hear a Song.”
  12. On January 2019, Sony Music Australia released her third EP titled “Live Sessions EP.” In 2020, she Sony Music and signed with ABC Music.
