Jenel “The Demolition Man” Lausa, 32, of the Philippines has signed an exclusive multi-bout contract with BRAVE Combat Federation. This marks the mixed martial arts comeback of the Filipino MMA fighter and boxer, who previously competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Lausa is expected to make his promotional debut under BRAVE CF very soon. The Bahrain-based MMA promotion has yet to reveal the details but he is expected to still compete in the flyweight division as he did in the UFC.
“Coming back to mixed martial arts is really something that I look forward to,” Lausa stated. “I am very grateful for this opportunity and I value the trust that BRAVE CF has given me. I am excited to represent my country once again on the global stage of mixed martial arts and it is with great pride that my return to the sport will take place under the banner of BRAVE CF.”
Born and raised in Iloilo, Philippines, Lausa holds a professional MMA record of 7 wins and 5 losses. Out of his victories, 2 are via knockouts and 2 are via submission.
Lausa once held the Pacific Xtreme Combat Flyweight Title by defeating his fellow Filipino MMA fighter Crisanto “The Slunnger” Pitpitunge, 33, via split decision on January 16, 2016. Training out of Team Lakay in La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines, the latter competed in BRAVE CF in 2018 twice.
After beating Pitpitunge, Lausa made his UFC debut. On November 26, 2016, Lausa defeated “The Conqueror” Yao Zhikui, 30, of China via unanimous decision at “UFC Fight Night 101” at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Apart from MMA, Lausa likewise made his mark inside the boxing ring. He possesses a professional boxing record of 10 wins, 0 loss and 1 draw and six of his victories are via knockout.
In 2016, Lausa captured the Philippine Boxing Federation Super Bantamweight Championship. In 2019, he clinched the Global Boxing Organization Asia-Pacific Super Featherweight Title.
