Jacob Alan Wright, 19, of Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino County, California, United States has been arrested by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. He was charged with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.
Wright is accused of entering a residence on Bergano Place in Rancho Cucamonga in the early morning hours of March 7, 2021. Inside the residence, he allegedly stabbed Jia Jia, 44, her daughter Ruby Meng, 8, and another female victim, 38, then fled through a rear sliding door.
The third victim, whose name was not released, survived. She is said to be a family friend of the two other victims, who both died.
On April 13, 2021, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department detectives arrested Wright after conducting a traffic stop on his vehicle. The Federal Bureau of Investigation helped the detectives identify him as the suspect in the murders of Jia and Meng.
Wright is being held without bail at West Valley Detention Center. The detectives found no relationship between him and the three victims.
According to the detectives, Wright acted alone and there are no outstanding suspects. His motive is still unclear.
