Keanan Christopher Turner, 32, of Forestville, Prince George’s County, Maryland, United States has been arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia. He was charged with two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed and two counts of first-degree murder while armed.
Turner is accused of fatally shooting Wanda Wright, 48, and her daighter Ebony Wright, 32, on April 12, 2021. At around 7:30 p.m., the D.C. Fire Department was contacted for a fire at an apartment on Good Hope Court in Southeast, Washington, D.C., USA, WUSA9 reported.
Ebony was found inside the apartment while Wanda was outside. Both were shot in the head.
A third female victim, whose name was not released, was shot in the face but survived. When firefighters arrived on the scene, she immediately approached them while she was holding a 3-month-old baby, who is Turner and Ebony’s child.
Child support papers Ebony served Turner were found at the apartment. He allegedly used the papers to set the apartment on fire.
The victim who survived is the aunt of the baby, who was not injured, Fox 5 DC has learned. According to her, Ebony had encouraged Turner to come and see their child for the first time.
On April 16, 2021, Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, U.S. Marshals Special Operations Group and Stafford County Sheriff’s Office officials arrested Turner at the house of his father in Stafford, Virginia, USA. Hundreds of firearms stuffed under mattresses and in chair cushions were found inside the house.
