Springdale, Arkansas’s Josh Duggar represented by Travis Story, Justin Gelfand, Greg Payne

Joshua James “Josh” Duggar, 33, of Springdale, Arkansas, United States was arrested by U.S. Marshals at his home in Springdale on April 29, 2021. He was charged with one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

If convicted, Duggar will pay a maximum of $250,00 fine and will spend up to 20 years in prison. He pleaded not guilty to both charges when he appeared in federal court via video conference on April 30, 2021.

Representing Duggar are Justin K. Gelfand, 37, Travis Wayne Story, 40, and Gregory F. Payne, 60. In a statement, the lawyers told CNN, “We intend to defend this case aggressively and thoroughly.”

“In this country, no one can stop prosecutors from charging a crime,” the lawyers continued. “But when you’re accused, you can fight back in the courtroom and that is exactly what Josh intends to do.”

Story and Payne are from Story Law Firm, which is based in Fayetteville, Washington County, Arkansas. Both Payne and Gelfand are originally from Missouri, USA.

Born in Tontitown, Washington County, Duggar is the eldest child of Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar. Jim, Michelle, Josh and Josh’s 18 younger siblings appeared on the reality show “19 Kids and Counting,” which aired on TLC from September 29, 2008 to May 19, 2015.

In 2008, Josh married Anna Keller Duggar. They currently have six children together.

In 2015, Josh admitted to using Ashley Madison, a website for married people who want to cheat on their spouses. In the same year, he was accused of molesting girls when he was a teenager.

Josh is accused of downloading material that depicted the sexual abuse of children under the age of 12 and possessing the material in May 2019. On April 23, 2021, his wife announced that she is pregnant with their seventh child.

Placed on a federal hold with no bail, Josh was booked into the Washington County Detention Center in Fayetteville. His detention hearing will be on May 5, 2021 while his trial is scheduled for July 6, 2021.
