Katy, Texas’s Eddie Clark shot while driving Dodge Challenger; Joe Argueta, Luis Argueta, Florinda Argueta, Margarito Alcantar charged

Eddie Clark III, 29, of Westminster Village Subdivision, Katy, Texas, United States has passed away. He was murdered.

Luis Argueta, 45, Florinda Argueta, 39, Margarito Alcantar, 29, and Joe Argueta, 19, were charged with murder. They allegedly chased down and fatally shot Clark in what the Harris County Sheriff’s Office described as “a tragic case of mistaken identity.”

Joe is Luis and Florinda’s son. Alcantar is Joe’s uncle.

Florinda had filed several reports with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office regarding their home and vehicle being vandalized one of her reports listed a black Dodge Charger as a vehicle of the suspect. According to her, the suspect was a teenage Hispanic male friend of Joe’s former girlfriend.

At around 11:30 p.m. on May 17, 2021, Clark was driving a dark gray Dodge Challenger on his home when Joe and another male member of the Argueta family tried to block the vehicle on the roadway. Joe was armed with the pistol while the other one was armed with a baseball bat.

When the Dodge Challenger tried to flee, Joe fired multiple gunshots at the vehicle’s passenger side. Clark was able to exit the vehicle before it crashed into a tree but he collapsed after fleeing a short distance on foot.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Cy-Fair EMS responded to the scene at around 11:35 p.m. Life Flight transported Clark to the Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital in Katy, where he was pronounced dead.


Joe and Florinda were both arrested. His bond was set at $50,000 while her bond was set at $20,000.

Both Joe and Florinda have posted bail. They are expected to appear in court at 9:00 a.m. on May 20, 2021.

Luis and Alcantar are still at large. People with information regarding the investigation or the location of any of the two are asked to either contact the Homicide Unit at 713-274-9100 or call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
