Anthony Pettis out; Alex Martinez vs Natan Schulte at ‘PFL 4: 2021 Regular Season’ in Atlantic City, New Jersey

Anthony “Showtime” Pettis, 34, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States was supposed to fight Alex Martinez, 27, of Paraguay and Canada at “PFL 4: 2021 Regular Season.” However, the American mixed martial artist, who is of Puerto Rican and Mexican descent, was pulled from the card.

Featuring nine bouts, the Professional Fighters League will hold “PFL 4: 2021 Regular Season” at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA on June 10, 2021. Martinez is still on the card but with a new opponent.

Martinez will fight Natan “Russo” Schulte, 29, of Joinville, Santa Catarina, Brazil in the lightweight division. They both weighed 156 lbs during the ceremonial weigh-ins in Atlantic City on June 9, 2021.

Competing professionally since 2016, Martinez holds a professional MMA record of 8 wins and 0 loss. He is an International Mixed Martial Arts Federation alum.

On the other hand, Schulte has 20 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw. He is coming out of a unanimous decision loss to Marcin Held, 29, of Tychy, Poland at “PFL 1: 2021 Regular Season” on April 23, 2021.


Also at “PFL 1: 2021 Regular Season,” Pettis made his PFL debut. He lost via unanimous decision to Clay Collard.

From 2011 to 2020, Pettis competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He defeated 11 opponents in the UFC who are all Americans except Charles “Do Bronx” Oliveira, 31, of Brazil, who is now the reigning UFC Lightweight Champion.

Pettis will fight again at the Ocean Casino Resort on June 25, 2021. He will face Raush “Cavalo de Guerra” Manfio, 29, of Sao Paulo, Brazil at “PFL 6: 2021 Season.”

Manfio also made his PFL debut at “PFL 1: 2021 Regular Season.” He defeated Joilton “Peregrino” Lutterbach, 28, of Dusseldorf, Bundesland, Germany via split decision.
