Livingston, Montana escapee Jordon Earl Linde steals 2000 Chrysler Town and Country

Jordon Earl Linde, 34, of Livingston, Park County, Montana, United States was arrested by the Park County Sheriff’s Office on July 24, 2021. He was charged with criminal possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute and criminal possession of dangerous drugs, opiates or meth and was booked into the Park County Detention Center in Livingston.

While in custody, Linde was taken by a Park County Detention Center employee to a medical center. On July 25, 2021, he overpowered the employee while they were in the medical center, stole the employee’s pistol and minivan and escaped from custody.

Linde later abandoned the minivan and stole a different vehicle, a gold 2000 Chrysler Town and Country minivan with Montana plate. He drove the second minivan drove on U.S. Highway 89 North, which runs between Livingston and Armington Junction, Cascade County, Montana.

The Park County Sheriff’s Office received a tip that Linde was in Clyde Park, Park County. At around 10:15 a.m. on July 27, 2021, deputies found the escapee and arrested him without incident, according to Park County Undersheriff Clay Herbst.

“We located him at a house, spent a little time and then he did come out,” the Bozeman Daily Chronicle quoted Herbst as saying of Linde. “We’re just super happy that this guy decided to do the right thing this morning, that he came out peacefully and didn’t fight again.”

The Livingston man was booked into the Park County Detention Center again. His bail was set at $1.5 million and he faced additional charges, namely two counts of felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs, criminal possession of drug paraphernalia and a Justice Court warrant for failure to appear.

Meanwhile, the Park County Detention Center employee who was with Linde when he escaped is expected to recover from his minor injuries. The detention officer’s name was not released.
