Thor “The Mountain” Bjornsson, 32, of Iceland and Devon “No Limits” Larratt, 46, of Canada will headline the MTK Global boxing event “Core Sports Fight Night 3” at Sport Society in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on September 18, 2021. The Canadian contender accepted the fight five weeks before the event.
“It’s hard to trash talk someone that accepts a fight with five weeks to go so I like him but I’ll beat his ass,” Bjornsson said of Larratt during the press conference on September 16, 2021. “I’ll probably break his nose so I’m sorry but that’s just my job.”
.
This will be Bjornsson’s third fight as a boxer. He shared, “I have no clue what is going through Devon’s mind and I don’t really care.”
“I have huge respect for him for taking this fight and won’t underestimate him,” the Icelandic strongman continued. “For him to come here and accept the fight on five weeks’ notice is already winning for him.”
Bjornsson, who is 2018 World’s Strongest Man, believes that every experience he has helps him. He can already feel in boxing that his background from other sports is helping him a lot with this new journey and making him particularly ready for “Core Sports Fight Night 3.”
“I remember when I was younger, I’d be super nervous and before competition, I would pee every 2 minutes,” Bjornsson recalled. “It would happen all the time. The older I got, the better and less nervous I got and that has helped me a lot.”
Also held in Dubai, Bjornsson’s first two boxing bouts were against Steven Ward, 31, of Northern Ireland on January 16, 2021 and Simon Vallily, 36, of England on May 28, 2021. Both fights ended in a draw.
